My process

1. Receive your flowers

Mary’s Garden accepts flowers from all over the United States. If you are outside the St. Charles County, MO area, overnighting your flowers would produce the best results. I will provide instructions on how to ship your flowers for the best results.

I need the flowers as soon as possible, preferably within a few days of the event.

To ensure the best outcome, flowers will need to be handled with care & in water as much as possible before pressing.

2. Press your flowers

Smaller, more delicate flowers can typically be pressed as they are. Larger flowers like roses and peonies need to be deconstructed before pressed, then put back together once dry. This means that most flowers can be successfully pressed, but when you inquire about your particular flowers, I will discuss if I have any concerns.

Flowers do have to be fresh in order to press well. If flowers are very old and already dry, they are too delicate and will crumble when pressed. The better you treat your flowers, the better they will press. I highly recommend putting bouquets in water at every possible opportunity and treating them gently to get the best results.

3. Design your frame

It typically takes an average of a month for flowers to dry. When they’re fully dry, I will reassemble them, if necessary.

I will arrange them within your chosen frame in a traditional bouquet layout, unless we have discussed a custom design. Your design can include an invitation, photo, or similar.

4. Package & send your frame!

It will typically take around 3 months to press and process your order. I run Mary’s Garden alongside staying home with my three kids, four & under. I get things done as quickly as possible, but I work around a full schedule!
